The Commemoration of Jesus' Triumphant entry into Jerusalem
The Commemoration of the Triumphant entry of Jesus to Jerusalem is celebrated as 'Palm Sunday' in the Holy Catholic Church all over the world. It is because the people gathered and welcomed Jesus to the holy city of Jerusalem with palm branches in their hands and singing 'Hosanna to the Son of David'. The celebration of this event began in front of Maria Giri convent where in people of the Parish gathered together at 7.30 a.m. Once the palms were blessed the procession with singing marched towards the church. The Celebration was presided over by Rev. Fr. Valerian D' Souza. It's not enough to sing praises to God with palm branches in hand and bring to mind the entry of Jesus to Jerusalem, it is much more important to personally invite welcome Jesus into our hearts was the message of the Day.
